What’s included?
All meals, tea and snacks, complementary bottled water in car, hotels, transport, guide, government levy, visa fee, entrance fees, permits and sightseeing. On trek includes – sleeping tents, dinning tents, toilet and shower tents, toilet seats, mats, duffle bags, cooking utensils, all meals, guide, trek chef assistants and horses.
What’s NOT included?
Flight tickets, insurance, tips, drinks and beverages, sleeping bag on trek, laundry, internet, phone and other bills of personal nature.
Experience the local Bhutanese village life while staying in traditional farm houses. You will have the chance to prepare Bhutanese meals, drink local wine, relax in hot stone bath, dine with local family and enjoy gardening.
Day 1
Arrive Paro
In clear weather, flight to Bhutan provides a wonderful view of Himalayan scenery. On arrival you will be greeted by our guide and transferred to the hotel for lunch. After lunch you can enjoy some popular sightseeing in Paro. Overnight at farm house in Paro.
Day 2
Paro – Haa Valley
After early breakfast, hike to Tiger Nest Monastery which takes about 3 hours through a lovely blue pine forest. The Buddhist saint Guru Rinpoche came in the 7th century on a flying tigress and meditated in a cave for three months. After visiting temple, hike down to the bottom. After lunch drive to Haa, crossing Chele-La Pass at 3,870m. Overnight at farm house in Haa Valley.
Day 3
Haa – Thimphu
In the morning, visit Lhakhang Karpo (White) and Nagpo (Black). These two temples are one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. Explore some nearby villages and experience the life of farmers and then drive to Thimphu, (Capital City). In the evening visit Tashichhodzong, the main secretariat building which holds the throne room of His Majesty, the King. Overnight at hotel in Thimphu.
Day 4
Thimphu – Phobjikha Valley
After breakfast, you will drive to Phobjikha Valley, also called Gangtey. Upon arrival, visit Gangtey Monastery. In the afternoon, hike through the villages and absorb the life of the farmers. You will also visit Crane Information Centre which has information displays about the Black-Necked Cranes which migrate from Tibet to this valley in winter. Overnight at farm house in Phobjikha.
Day 5
Phobjikha – Punakha
Today you will drive back to Punakha. In Punakha, you will hike to Chimi Lhakhang passing through village houses and rice fields. This is a special temple because couples who are married and don’t have children get blessed from the wooden Phallus! Next visit the Punakha Dzong which is located at the confluence of the Pho-Chhu (male) and Mo-Chhu (female) rivers. Overnight at farm house in Punakha.
Day 6
Punakha – Paro
Following breakfast, drive to the north of Punakha and hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten. This Chorten was built in 1990s and it took nearly 10 years to complete the construction. It was built by Queen Mother and dedicated to the King and for the well-being of Bhutanese. It majestically located on a ridge, with amazing views of the country side. Overnight at farm house in Paro.
Day 7
Departure
After breakfast, drive to Paro airport for flight to onward destination.
